Website Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 10, 2026
This policy explains how Sandra Newton, PhD, Licensed Psychologist, PLLC ("I," "me," or "my practice") handles information when you visit sandynewtontherapy.com. It covers my website only. It does not cover the information I collect or keep as your health care provider.
Please do not send clinical information through this website. Do not include details about your symptoms, history, or treatment in the website, in a contact form, or in an email. I will talk with you about these during a phone call or an appointment.
Information I collect
Information you give me. If you call, email, or contact me through the website, I receive your name, your contact details, and anything else you choose to share. I use it only to respond to you and to discuss whether we might work together.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, my site is hosted by Squarespace, which collects basic technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and approximate location. Squarespace uses this to operate and secure the site and to give me general traffic statistics. I do not use this data to identify individual visitors.
Cookies. The site uses cookies that Squarespace needs for it to work and for its basic analytics. I do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and I do not use Google Analytics or social media tracking tools. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as expected.
How I use and share information
I use website information only to run the site and to respond to people who contact me. I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it for advertising. I share it only with the service providers that help operate the site and my email (such as Squarespace), or when the law requires it.
Email and phone
Standard email is not a fully secure way to communicate, and messages could be seen by others. Please use email only for scheduling and general questions. I may not be able to respond to a call or message right away, and this website is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911.
Telehealth
If we work together by video, the platform and its privacy practices will be described in my informed consent paperwork.
Your health information (HIPAA)
Once you become my client, information about your care is protected by federal and state law, including HIPAA. How I use and share it is described in my separate Notice of Privacy Practices, which I give you at the start of care.
Children
My practice and this website are for adults (18 and older). I do not knowingly collect information from children.
Third-party links
The site may link to other websites. I am not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Your choices
You may ask me what information I have received from you through the website, and ask me to delete it, by calling or emailing me. Records of therapy are kept according to my legal and professional duties, and I will explain these if you ask.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
